What do I mean? Let’s breakdown “We”, and “Great Tribulation”.
“We” – as in the human race? Is the whole of our kind currently going through trial and turmoil? Most people reading these words are probably still very comfortable in their American dream homes. Maybe terrified and glued to the TV over the latest Coronavirus headlines, or horrified by that same, said TV, over its filthy content – but nonetheless, still quite comfortable. As of right now, it remains that OTHERS out there somewhere, that mass of distant and nameless others, are being tortured for their faith, are succumbing to (a likely man-made bio-weapon) disease, or are being trampled underfoot as the horsemen of the apocalypse begin their assault across our world. The “We” is true in that if there is a brotherhood and sisterhood of Man, we are now in this together. Even if it hasn’t hit home yet.
For “Great Tribulation”, Wikipedia says: “In the futurist view of Christian eschatology, the Tribulation is a period of time where everyone will experience worldwide hardships, disasters, famine, war, pain, and suffering, which will wipe out more than 75% of all life on the earth before the Second Coming takes place.” Again, in speculating about most readers, you no doubt believe we are nearing the end-of-days. There is hardly anything in the news NOT pointing to the beginning birth pangs Christ spoke about in His Olivet Discourse. Wikipedia describes our Savior’s discourse starkly: “The Olivet Discourse includes Jesus' warning to His followers that they will suffer tribulation and persecution before the ultimate triumph of the Kingdom of God.” Sounds right.
In summation: “we/everyone will experience and even His followers will suffer during tribulation and persecution”.
Christ said on the Mount of Olives: “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
We are NOT to be troubled by what we see unfolding on the world stage. This sounds easier-said-than-done, because most of us are not living the way we ought to be. We are not spiritually “in the vine”, our hearts set apart from the wicked Babylon around us. Nor are most of us physically, set apart. Our location, lifestyle, diet, and utter dependence upon the continued prosperity of the world’s Babylonian System means we quake inside anytime threatening news scrolls across the bottom of our screens.
Many might sense that the end is near, and instead of making preparations to that end, are hoping they will remain untouched -- as the dreaded calamities erupt – or they will be whisked away before they strike ( If that’s you, I highly recommend The Fuel Project’s series of short videos entitled “Revelation: We Have Tribulation”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4ZHtNeCTNA ).
Plan A – hoping to remain untouched in the eye of the proverbial storm – would mean you go unscathed like Daniel who spent the night in the lion’s den, or Shad, Mesh and aBed who survived the fiery furnace. But note in Daniel 8:1 that Daniel purposed in his heart that he might not defile himself with the unclean practices of his surrounding rulers. His three companions abstained like-wise. Are you? This obedience to be set-apart was crucial for them to rightly interpret prophecy, and maintain a rock-solid faith in God amid great disaster.
This moral secession from the worldly kingdom in which you find yourself is legendary and rare. If this is the battle plan for the countless masses in urban and suburban settings, hoping to ride out the coming storm while doing nothing to prepare, I doubt its success but can argue little because I do not know what’s in their hearts. However, the afore-mentioned quaking by the masses at the gathering storm (signs of birth pangs starting) reminds me that the “heart is corrupt above all else”. Many may think they’re in the mode of Daniel and his buddies, but they’re being fooled by their own distorted opinion of themselves, along with a distorted view of Scripture.
If you can live Plan A, being exactly like Daniel, I applaud that approach. But let’s consider Plan B since in reality, we’re not all Daniels.
In my end-times, sci-fi novel Zero-Gs, the world is emerging from a ten-year economic “Meltdown”. The main character’s father saw the approaching storm and prepared, moving his family to upper Idaho. That location, along with other strategic decisions he made, is the only reason the protagonists survived to witness the rise of the One-World Government and the One-World Religion, which people accept because it is based upon superior knowledge of the arriving “alien saviors”.
Pandemics and disease abound, but there are also rumors that the E.T. “Messengers” have a solution that not only promises to save us from death, but will expand our lifespans. (For a preview of the book, go to: DarrinGeisinger.com) Without several key changes in course, this family would have been swallowed up by the Meltdown. Without alternatives, they would have eventually chosen to alter their God-given DNA and believe the original lie, repackaged for modernity (ye shall be as gods).
Matthew 2:13: “…an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph, saying, “Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. For Herod is about to seek the child to destroy him.”
God warns His people. And I believe that we are being warned, right now. A sword is about to come across this land and it’s time to consider just where you ought to be living. In the above verse, the angel was specific as to where Joseph was to take his family. I believe if you pray, ask and seek, God will answer you specifically, too (and also what your new occupation might be). You could be convinced you are where you ought to be, but for those with a gnawing sense that things just aren’t right, that we’re being set up and herded into the cities for a diabolical purpose, then now is the time to act.
Not only are we being beguiled into population centers, modern conveniences and apathy have stripped away common survival skills from most of our resumes. Countless occupations consist of little more than fiddling with a digital mirage. People are lining up for commutes, cubicles and the chance at high pay to log their hours and then escape to entertain themselves (often to death). They have a can of tuna, two oranges and a jar of peanut butter in the apartment pantry. Why have more? They go out to dinner four or five times a week and pack their weekends with golf and ordering in pizza while binging on Netflix. Meanwhile they drive past the Georgia Guidestones which have clearly called out to them the very plan that their corporate enslavement supports: “Reduce the Population to 500 Million”.
I’m not pointing the finger at anyone. I worked a corporate job for two decades, complete with cubes and commutes. Then my wife received a (heavenly?) message while watching $500 worth of conveniently packaged groceries come down the belt at our local Big Box Store. She heard something like: “This era of humanity is not sustainable”. We chose to act; we plunged ‘down the rabbit hole’ to discover the fragility of the current economic system (not to mention the moral decay), and we began our journey out of Babylon. FAR from experts, we’re very much still on that journey. Now living on a 50-acre homestead in the Ozark Mountains, having livestock and a large garden, every day is one of learning and discovery.
We quickly found just how hard it can be to go against pre-packaged convenience and Madison Avenue programming, and get our family back to His ancient paths. Putting one foot slowly in front of the other, we’re starting to rely more on the Father’s provision and less on Big Ag and Big Pharma. The joys and struggles of this journey are remarkable, and I’ll be sharing some of our story as a speaker at True Legends 2020, this July. I’ll also be sharing practical steps you can start taking NOW if you sense the approaching calamities and are being called to “flee” to wherever He directs.
What I will NOT be saying at True Legends is that your PREPS can save you. Far from it.
Proverbs 21:31: “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the Lord.”
You see, I wasn’t saying Plan A, being just like Daniel, is unattainable, because I believe that SHOULD be our target. To be fully set apart in our hearts ‘devoted to the Most High’ will mean our faith is unshakable on that dreaded day of Jacob’s Trouble. The key to our ultimate victory will be: Repent, obey His commands and walk in His ways.
2 Kings 6:17: “And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
In that verse lies my real hope and plan. I want to continue to draw near to Him and shed the world until I have no doubt that I can look up at the Ozark Hills surrounding my haven and BELIEVE the Father’s chariots are my true defense. Let’s gather in Branson, MO, this summer to encourage and extol one another to “dwell in the shelter of the Most High, resting in the shadow of the Almighty.”
And if you’re being called to “get out” and get some land and get your hands dirty, let’s talk about that, too. My family is now growing our own non-GMO and pesticide-free produce, planting an orchard, and eating organic, free-range eggs. Regardless of when it Hits-the-Fan, this is a better way to live. And it’s a better life we are teaching our home-schooled children. I want them to have an “escape hatch to freedom” when the FEMA trucks are prowling around to gather up the desperate. Yes, they first need to have an ear to hear the Father’s directing voice, but they must also have the choice available to remain outside the tightening noose, and have the option to refuse the Mark and either live – or die – free.
Our preparations must be full of wisdom and two-pronged: Obedient to Father no matter what may come, and also obedient in fleeing to the place of safety (and a possible new occupation) to which He will direct you. ASK, SEEK and KNOCK.
You see, we already (collectively) ARE in Tribulation. But let’s take some serious, obedient action before it arrives at our own doorsteps.
See you in Branson…
Proverbs 10:24-25: “What the wicked dread will overtake them; what the righteous desire will be granted. When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.”
